Nestling among the vineyards of the Sud-Minervois, Au Paradis des Cigales is the only inhabited house in this secluded valley, yet it is just five miles from picturesque Bize-Minervois, with its shops, bars and excellent restaurants. Well placed for sightseeing trips: Carcassonne, Narbonne, Beziers, and the Mediterranean coast lie only 30 minutes away. More information on these towns can be found in the information section. Enthusiasts can hire boats at the village of Le Somail on the nearby Canal du Midi, famed for its charming waterside restaurants. The tow path is ideal for cycling or long walks. The nearest supermarket is in St. Marcel. Excellent weekly markets may be found in Ginestas, St Chinian and Bize. There is a huge selection of vineyards to visit and great wines to try. The quintessential French experience.
The property comprises of two distinct apartments – apartment 1, “Au Paradis” on the ground floor, and apartment 2, “L’Oliveraie” above - two private pools with separate poolside areas and barbecues. The entrances are completely separate and private, each with parking space. Please see the accommodation section for a full description and photos of the apartments. Bicycles are available for guests to explore the countryside. A vegetable patch with tomatoes and herbs are at your disposal for a delightful taste of summer. The entire property, inside and out, has been renovated beautifully with flair, taste and attention to detail. Because the property is on different levels, no children under five are accepted. You’ll find the fridge and cupboard stocked with all the basics and, on arrival, you’ll be greeted by the mouth-watering aroma of a chicken roasting in the oven. *Bed linen and towels are provided and the beds are made up.
